Grandma's Boy

"Fruit cup, nice. Way to go mom."

Grandma's Boy is still flying under the radar. When I saw it the first time I actually didn't enjoy it too much but it has grown on me.

Grandma's Boy is about a 35 year old video game tester, Alex, and how if life is full of nothingness. He gets thrown out of his apartment for rent delinquency and ends up moving in with his grandma. Really weird things happen involving grown young men and grandmas. The one actor I think is histerical is in this movie, Nick Swardson, who plays Jeff- Alex's friend and co worker. I think the reason this movie if funny is mostly because of Nick Swardsons role.

Actually, now that I think about it, I realize that even though I have seen this movie alot, I have never watched it from start to beginning. I know for a fact that I havn't seen the actual end of the movie. That actually pisses me off that I just realized that. Even though I havnm't seen the end of the movie, it is still worth a spot on the great comedy movies.

Billy Madison

"Quit it lady, you're scarin us!"

What a classic. I'm sure that if you've ever seen any kind of movie before, that this was one of them before and if that's not true, you suck.

Billy Madison is about an idiot child adult, Billy Madison, played by Adam Sandler. When it comes to the time for Billy to inherit his father's hotel industry, they decide he has to go through all 12 grades again in order to be the new owner. The movie follows Billy going through a grade each 2 weeks. He ends up falling for one of his teachers through out the process and even weirder things happen.

Adam Sandler
looks good in this movie because he was still kind of young when it was made. Even though this movie is completely over played on TV, it still is really good since the first time or fifty eighth time I've seen it.

Anchorman: The Legend of Ron Burgundy

"Go fuck yourself, San Diego"

Anchorman is a pretty funny movie. Although it's really dumb like most of Will Ferrell's movies, I think its a great comedy movie.

Anchorman
is supposed to take place in the 1970's. It is about a news anchor named Ron Burgundy and the rest of his co-workers/friends. It follows their lifestyle and how much fun they have with their jobs. They constantly party and love being famous as the talk of the town. When the station adds a new co-anchor it upsets everyone, especially when they find out it's a woman! This was unlikely in the 70's. The movie is about the rise and fall of Ron Burgandy which is a really silly story but they did a good job with it.

This is another one of the number of movies that I quote once in a while and usually everyone understands what it's from!I've actually seen t-shirts of Ron Burgandy recently.

Happy Gilmore

"You eat pieces of shit for breakfast?"

Happy Gilmore is a funny movie. I watched it the other night and forgot how good it is. I have seen this movie easily over 100 times not counting all the way through. Everyone who is anyone has seen this movie:)

Happy Gilmore is about a reject hockey player who thinks he is excellent but never makes the hockey team. His life is going nowhere and his grandmother hasn't paid her taxes in a really long time. Once he finds out the house is being seized he needs to come up with a lot of money. He ends up enrolling in golf tournaments to raise the money to keep the house. He ends up gaining friends and rivals through the process and finds out he's a pretty good hockey player too.

Adam Sandler is just another goofy asshole character in this movie, but that is why he plays it so well. I would have put this higher on my list if I had remembered it before. So just because it is post 16 doesn't mean it isint as funny as the other ones.

Talladega Nights: The Ballad of Ricky Bobby

"Chip, Im gonna come at you like a spider monkey"

Talladega nights is a pretty stupid movie. This blog is also starting to get pretty long so I'm running out of 5 star ideas. I would say this is at least a 3 star movie for me. Like I said before, I really like Will Ferrell in most of his movies.

Talladega Nights is about a racecar driver, (Ricky Bobby) who loves racing. One day he gets in a horrible crash and from there on thinks he can't drive again. He is too afraid to be behind the wheel. Along with the help of his deranged family, father and friends he figures out a way to race again with a huge come back.

The movie is predictable, yes. It also is as dumb as most Will Ferrell movies are most people would say, but I happen to laugh at it everytime I've seen it. HIs costar, John Reilly, is in a lot of movies with him and he is his wing man in this one too.

Waiting

"Welcome to Thunderdome, Bitch"

Waiting puts its own little weird spin on a comedy movie. It is definitely a crude humor one. I first watched it because my sister introduced it to me. I didn't like it the first couple times I watched it but it's pretty good.

Waiting is about a bunch of screwed up freaks working together in one restaurant called Shenaniganz (I found out after this blog that there really is a restaurant named Shenaniganz). Their restaurant is anything but normal. They do disgusting things to the food and have "inter-office" relationships. THe movie follows a day at he restaurant and what that means for these employees.

I wouldn't suggest this for the faint of heart. It will most likely offend a lot of people in the process of watching it. This isin't one of my favorite comedy movies of all time but it's pretty good so it deserves a spot on my list here. They actually made a sequel called Still Waiting but it's horrible so don't see it! I also like Dane Cook and he made an appearance in this movie.

Step Brothers

"Boats and hoes! Boats and hoes!"

Step Brothers was such an unexpected movie.I certainly did not think this movie was going to be this funny. Like the others on this list, it is now one of my personal favorite movies even outside of the comedy section.

Step Brothers is about 2 stupid, unemployed grown men who still live at home with their mother and father. When their parents meet and decide to get married, the wife and her son (Will Ferrell) move in with the father and his son (John Reilly) as well. The movie follows the family trying to get along and how hard that is for their two sons at first. In the end, yup you guessed it, they become the bestest of friends. It's not the predictable story plot that makes this movie good or funny. It's the ridiculous things these two say and do along the way.

I'm pretty sure anyone who has a sense of humor enjoys this movie. I know a lot of people who hate the two main characters but I love both of them especially together. If you havn't yet...check out this movie!
